Windows Project - Completed

This was one of the smaller front windows, it used some kind of black gasket .. and at the time we really had no idea that our boat was any different than any other G26. But I found out that was not true.

This picture shows the window frame after we removed the old plastic panes and all the gasket and associated guck! - BIG gap.. would require a big gasket - This is not the STD Grampian Grey Gasket material you would buy - WE know - we tried. WE bought all our gasket material from HOLLAND MARINE - and found after driving out to the boat and doing all this prep in the morning.. that we were SOL in the afternoon.
This is a boat with the STD Grampian frames.. An older G26 notice the wooden toe rail. Notice all the screws/rivits around the frames of the windows. Mine have no outside marks on the Frame.. they screw together from the inside I assume to a cast in recepticle in the outer frame.
This boat must be within about 40 numbers of ours 754 because we were told by Gill Bibby who is considered an authority on Grampian (having worked there in Oakville for the entire life of the company), that only about 40-70 boats used these frame till they decided to elimate the frames all together. These frames are the same as mine. Got this pic of a NY boat off the net.  It was for sale, no idea where it is now .. or what they did with the windows. I did try and contact and ask.
