My deck and cockpit...
Well the cockpit area looks like crap.. A really poor previous paintjob has left it looking like it has a skin condition.
I need to get that fixed.. so if I was going to do that.. why not paint the whole boat?
Well I put the boat in the area of the club so I could get back in the water asap next year.. SOOO maybe not a complete paintjob as doing the hull is a big job.. removing all the antifoul, sanding and grinding he keel, and then the cost for interprotect and then paint.. I think thats a job that could get up to almost $1000.00
Now, I want to do the deck and cockpit in white - anti skid areas in grey or maybe a cream. OH maybe a light blue.. that looks nice too.. any opinions? I have a blue sailcover, and a blue UV area on the Genoa, maybe like that very light Grampian blue used in the logo??
May 2012 - Looks like this job is going to be stripping the old paint, a bit of paint around the bases of the grab rails, because those were rebuilt, and other wise lots of cleaning.
Since I am selling its better to leave it as much gelcote as possible and allow the new owner to decide what they want to do.
